Hospital Team Members

Jane Piske Jane Piske is the Practice Coordinator at Colony Animal Hospital and co-owns the practice with her husband, Dr. Greg Piske. They are both very proud of their two sons, Matthew and Andrew. She earned her degree in Veterinary Medical Technology in 1973. She is an avid equestrian and spends as much time as she can with her thoroughbred, Mac. She has also shown Airedale Terriers. Her four legged family include an Airedale, a Scottie, A Norfolk terrier, a cat, a parrot and multiple turtles. Jane is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Her hobbies include riding, reading and travel.

Katrina Dunn Katrina Dunn is the Lead Veterinary Technician at Colony Animal Hospital and has worked here for 11 years. She is finishing her degree through the American Animal Hospital Association Distance Veterinary Technology Program. Katrina loves the family atmosphere at the hospital and is proud of the high quality medicine and compassionate care offered at Colony Animal Hospital. Katrina shares her home with two dogs, a cat, two rats, and two guinea pigs. She enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, Kaiya. Her hobbies include playing the djembes, dancing and canoeing.

Anna Saunders Anna Saunders is one of the animal caretakers and the groomer at Colony Animal Hospital. She joined the staff in 2006. Anna enjoys working with the friendly staff and knowledgeable doctors and loves working with pets.

At home, Anna enjoys the companionship of a number of pets, including three cats, three dogs and five birds. In her spare time, Anna enjoys boating, fishing, swimming, and playing with her dogs on the beach of the Chesapeake Bay.

Breanne Wasenar A veterinary assistant at Colony Animal Hospital since 2008, Breanne Wasenar previously worked at the Virginia Zoo as a keeper's aide. Currently pursuing a degree in Zoological Parks Management, Breanne has always loved working with animals and enjoys working with the friendly staff and caring veterinarians. Breanne enjoys spending her free time with her family, friends and her three cats, Buddy, Tiger and Zoe, and a dog, Meadow.

Sharra DeHart Veterinary assistant Sharra DeHart joined the Colony Animal Hospital staff in 2006. Sharra is a graduate of VSPN's Dental course and Hill's Nutrition course. She loves working with animals and enjoys coming to work and learning new things each day. She spends her free time drawing, painting, going to the movies and walking her dogs, Calli, Billi and Bayla. Sharra's animal companions also include a cat named Ollie.

Chelsey LaMendela Veterinary assistant Chelsey Lamendola has helped care for pets at Colony Animal Hospital since 2008. She is proud of the high-quality care offered at the hospital and loves working with the caring staff and friendly clients and pets. In her spare time, she enjoys curling up with a good book, listening to live music, and spending time with her family. She enjoys the companionship of her two dogs, Venus and Boo, and a cat named Luna, when she's at home.

Gloria Smith Animal caretaker Gloria Smith has helped care for pets at Colony Animal Hospital since 2009. Her heart and soul belong to animals and she loves working with the pets that come into the hospital each day. Gloria has raised Border Collies for more than 35 years, and she competes in agility championships and AKC events with her dogs. Two of her dogs, Surge and Kallie, have had their AKC runs featured on Animal Planet.

Sherri Armstrong Sherri Armstrong has assisted clients and pets as a receptionist at Colony Animal Hospital since 2007. She has completed the AAHA-accredited veterinary receptionist program and has also completed the Hill's Nutrition Course. She loves meeting new clients and enjoys working with all the pets that come to the hospital. Her four-legged family members include four dogs, Dale, Joe, Belle and Jake. She has a number of pastimes, and especially enjoys spinning her own yarn, stained glass and searching for hidden treasures at thrift stores. She especially enjoys spending her free time with her family and their dogs.

Sherri Brunelle Receptionist Sherri Brunelle joined the Colony Animal Hospital staff in 2008. She is proud of the caring, compassionate medicine offered at the hospital and enjoys watching all of the pets that come in get better. Outside of work, Sherri spends most of her free time with her children, taking her daughter to church and soccer and her son to baseball. Her animal companions include dogs Dakota, Sammie and Willow and a cat named Bam-Bam.

Keyonna Atkins has assisted clients as a receptionist at Colony Animal Hospital since 2009. She enjoys seeing all of the pets that come into the hospital and loves working with the friendly veterinarians and staff. When she's not at the hospital, Keyonna spends her free time with her son. She also enjoys cooking, reading romance novels, and listening to music.
